A haunting, atmospheric hack-and-slash game

Death of a Wish is a premium action game where players are thrust into a nightmarish world where they must confront the theocratic Faiths that have long oppressed them. As the protagonist, you will embark on a quest for retribution and engage in vicious hack-and-slash action.

Death of a Wish delivers a visceral action RPG experience, blending brutal combat with a surreal aesthetic and a haunting narrative. With all of these gripping elements, this psychedelic title serves as a stunning sequel to Lucah: Born of A Dream that allows fans of the first game to dive deeper into the game’s fictional world.

Head straight into a nightmare

The combat system in Death of a Wish is demanding yet rewarding, requiring players to master cursed powers while fending off the encroaching Corruption. Customization plays a significant role, with players able to tailor their abilities using magical combos called Arias and powerful Virtues that alter combat dynamics. The game's world is rendered with a surreal aesthetic that further immerses players in the dreamlike setting.

Accompanying the visuals is a chilling score, which blends electronic sounds with live instrumentation to evoke feelings of tense anxiety and electrifying catharsis. The audio complements the visuals perfectly, enhancing the overall immersive experience. In addition to all of these, players can also anticipate a gripping storyline that can be quite confusing at first but arches into a much greater plot that connects seamlessly with the prequel.

Despite its strengths, though, this hack-and-slash game is not without its flaws. The souls-like mechanics, while engaging initially, falter in the late game, with combat pacing overshadowed by numerical progression. This imbalance can detract from the strategic depth the game initially offers, especially for players who engage less with farming and collection mechanics. However, with some grinding, it does grow much easier for players over time.

Explore a stunning world

Overall, Death of a Wish offers a compelling journey through a dark and twisted world, filled with intense combat and haunting imagery. While its gameplay mechanics may stumble in the later stages, its gripping narrative and striking aesthetic make it a worthwhile experience for fans of action RPGs. For fans of the game’s prequel, this follow-up presents a much closer look into the intricacies of this game’s fascinating fictional setting.
